The annual Friends' Family Fun Day and Fishing Competition took place this Sunday and much fun was had by all. King's families enjoyed sausages, ice-creams, water slides and good old-fashioned backyard cricket on the No 3 Field, all under sunny skies. There was much competition at the weigh-in station following the morning's fishing competition on the Hauraki Gulf. Boys waited excitedly to weigh their catch of the day and many fabulous prizes were on offer for the various categories of fish caught. Some boys, who had never fished before, got to spend the day fishing with the Headmaster and caught a lot of fish just beneath the Harbour Bridge. Biggest catch of the day: A giant snapper caught by Ben Macdonald weighing over 3kgs!
